Internship Software Engineering (System Analyst)
About the Role
We are looking for an Internship Software Engineering (System Analyst) to join our Product & Development team in Cyberjaya. In this role, you will work on real-world projects for government and enterprise clients, helping to ensure our cloud-native platforms are reliable, accurate, and user-friendly. You will be involved in everything from understanding business requirements to running system integration tests and supporting end users.
What You'll Do
- Analyse and document system requirements and workflows, working closely with business analysts and developers.
- Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and support data analysis tasks.
- Perform manual testing including UAT and SIT, tracking defects and reporting results.
- Provide helpdesk support for internal and client-facing issues, logging and triaging tickets.
- Assist with documentation of technical specifications, user guides, and test cases.
This is a hands-on internship where you will gain exposure to modern tech such as PHP with Laravel, React or Vue.js on the frontend, and Node.js or Go on the backend. Our infrastructure runs on Kubernetes and Docker, deployed across AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will learn how these pieces fit together in production environments that demand high availability and security.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of SQL and ability to write queries for data extraction and verification.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (PHP, JavaScript, or Python preferred).
- Experience with testing concepts: unit testing, UAT, SIT, or bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
- Strong analytical and documentation skills – you can break down a problem and write clear notes.
- Comfortable with helpdesk or support tasks – patient and clear when explaining technical issues to non-technical users.
- Bonus: Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Must be based in or willing to commute to Cyberjaya for the internship period.
